5.1 sound via a soundbar
This adapter enables audio output via Bluetooth, cinch or optical connection - from a TV with HDMI-ARC or an HDMI source.
The VAX01301 is used to additionally output the sound from an HDMI signal via Bluetooth or via Cinch (analogue) and SPDIF Toslink (digital). This allows you to use Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers to output the sound. Or active speakers and a stereo system connected to the audio outputs. If the TV has HDMI-ARC (or HDMI-eARC), the VAX01301 can be connected there to deliver the internal TV sound from apps and receivers. For this mode activate HDMI-ARC by pressing the ARC button. If you want stereo or Bluetooth sound output , the audio format on the TV must be set to PCM stereo, not Bitstream or Dolby. Bluetooth cannot process 5.1 sound!
The HDMI Audio Extractor can also deliver the sound of an external player such as Fire TV, Apple TV, etc., which is connected to its HDMI input. Am HDMI-Ausgang kann ein Fernseher, Monitor oder Videoprojektor angeschlossen werden. Es werden Ultra-HD Video-Auflösungen bis zu 4k 60Hz HDR oder Dolby Vision unterstützt. Auch von diesem Eingang wird Stereo-Ton per Bluetooth oder Cinch / SPDIF ausgegeben. 5.1 Ton mit Dolby Digital oder DTS kann nur per SPDIF Toslink extrahiert werden. Die gleichzeitige Verwendung von Bluetooth und Audioausgängen ist nicht möglich. Über die Wahltaste 2.0/ 5.1 oder Advanced (Audio EDID Modus) kann das maximale Audioformat des Zuspielers begrenzt werden. Beispielsweise auf Stereo, um die Bluetooth-Übertragung zu ermöglichen. Im Advanced-Modus werden alle Audioformate unterstützt. But higher audio formats can only be transmitted via HDMI, not via Cinch or Toslink.

The VAX01301 provides constant audio output levels. The digital audio signals can be adjusted in volume after analogue conversion, i.e. in the headphones or on the sound system. Many televisions or media players offer to control the sound system by means of an adaptive remote control. HDMI CEC is passed between the HDMI input and output. The VAX01301 is powered via USB (power supply unit is not included), e.g. from the TV.
Note:
- Only stereo sound can be output via the built-in Bluetooth 5.0 audio transmitter or via cinch. When using ARC, please set the TV to PCM for stereo sound.
- Dolby Digital & DTS 5.1 sound is only output via SPDIF Toslink.
- Higher audio formats can only be looped through via HDMI and cannot be extracted.
- Power supply via USB (max. 700 mA, power supply unit is not included)
