HDMI Audio Extractor with Bluetooth Transmitter

Purpose

The VAX01301 HDMI Audio Extractor with Bluetooth can output audio from a connected HDMI source or from a TV with an HDMI ARC port. The selection is made at the push of a button. The audio signal is either sent via Bluetooth or transmitted to a sound system via the audio outputs (RCA Cinch analog stereo and Toslink digital optical). When a Bluetooth headphone or speaker pairs with the VAX01301, it will automatically start playing through this audio device. Because Bluetooth only supports stereo, the sound on the television and/or media player must be set to stereo. The same applies if the analog cinch output is used. The volume can be regulated on the sound system or headphones.

Output in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS is also possible via the optical digital output. Audio format support can be set or limited on the VAX01301. In Advanced mode, all audio formats are passed through. However, an audio format higher than Dolby Digital is no longer extracted.

The VAX01301 HDMI Audio Extractor with Bluetooth is powered via USB, eg from a socket on the TV or media player.

Transmission to Bluetooth headphones

Use standard Bluetooth headphones to hear audio from the TV or media player. The VAX01301 transmits the sound in stereo only. Therefore, set the TV and media player to stereo, sometimes this is called "PCM" on the TV.

Sound through a stereo system

Connect your stereo amp or active speakers to the VAX01301. Enjoy the sound from the media player or from the TV via your system.

5.1 sound via a soundbar

Connect the VAX01301 to your computer's HDMI output and to your monitor. You can operate a soundbar for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 multi-channel sound via the optical digital output.

It is not possible to use Bluetooth and audio outputs at the same time. The VAX01301 delivers constant audio output levels. The volume of the digital audio signals can only be regulated after analogue conversion, i.e. in the headphones or on the sound system. Many televisions or media players offer the ability to control the sound system using a remote control that is capable of learning. HDMI-CEC is passed between HDMI input and output. The VAX01301 is powered via USB (mains adapter is not included), eg from the television.
