This HDMI audio extractor routes the sound of an HDMI signal to an audio device via HDMI-ARC/eARC. The video signal for the display is passed through losslessly, supporting resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz and HDR / Dolby Vision (up to 48 Gbps data rate). The AX310 is backwards compatible with all lower resolutions and is ideal for operating a soundbar with a monitor, video projector or TV. In addition, audio delay (latency) is avoided and audio formats such as DTS that may be blocked by the TV can be played.

The TV's ARC/eARC (Audio Return Channel) is supported, so the internal sound of a connected TV with HDMI-ARC/eARC can also be output via the HDMI-ARC/eARC port of the AX310. By pressing the eARC button, you can switch between the sound of the player and the sound of the TV. If the player is turned off and eARC is activated, the TV sound will be played. It is also possible to connect a monitor or video projector without ARC function and leave eARC deactivated.

With the EDID mode switch (DIP switch) you can specify which audio and video formats should be supported. If you are using a TV with an HDMI ARC/eARC connection, you can control the volume of the audio signal with the TV remote control. Some playback devices, such as Apple TV or Fire TV, allow you to control the audio system independently. You can switch the extractor on or off by pressing and holding the ARC button.
