  • Supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) for the output of television sound via SPDIF
  • Switchable scaler for reducing 4K to 1080p, for outputting Ultra HD content on a Full HD TV - ideal for mixed operation with a 4K and a FullHD TV set
  • EDID management with 3 modes: Copy function from Display A, automatic or 4K HDR 5.1 fixed (alternative firmware forces 3D video or 7.1 sound)

Functionality

This HDMI matrix switch connects 4 HDMI sources to 2 HDMI sinks (TV, projector, monitor, AV receiver). You can freely assign the signals and, for example, play a film on 2 televisions at the same time. If the HDMI source delivers an Ultra HD signal but one of the TVs only supports Full HD, you can switch on the downscaler. The scaler downscales the resolution, turning a 2160p signal into 1080p. Other picture and sound information is not changed. The HDMI matrix switch is therefore ideal for mixed operation with an Ultra HD device and a Full HD device. All common HDMI sources such as Fire TV Stick 4K, Sky Q, Playstation 4 pro, Xbox One X, Apple TV 4K and Blu-ray players can be operated.

Downscaler

The switch has a downscaler so that a 4K and a Full HD display can be operated on the same player. This reduces the 4K video signal to 1080p resolution for the Full HD device. At the same time, the 4K device receives the original signal.

Control a media player via your TV remote control using HDMI-CEC

If you want to control one of the HDMI source devices via the TV remote control using HDMI-CEC, connect it to HDMI input 1. The Matrix Switch supports CEC communication here. If you have connected two TVs, please switch off CEC on one TV to prevent interference (HDMI-CEC is generally only intended to control a single TV).

Extract the sound to a sound system

The HDMI matrix switch also has an audio extractor. This allows the sound to be played back via a sound system. Connect the sound system either digitally via SPDIF Toslink or analogue via 3.5 mm jack. The switch delivers a digital stereo signal or 5.1 sound (Dolby Digital, DTS) via Toslink.

Please note: The transmission of HD sound formats such as DD+, Dolby TrueHD (Dolby Atmos) or DTS-HD is generally only possible via HDMI, not at the SPDIF output. To hear anything at the analogue audio output, the source must be set to stereo. The analogue output is therefore muted for 5.1 sound.

Receive the sound from the TV on your sound system thanks to ARC support

You can switch on ARC (Audio Return Channel) and send the sound from the TV via optical to the sound system. This is useful if you use the internal TV tuner or a Smart TV app. You select which sound you want to hear using the remote control or directly on the switch. If you switch on ARC, the analogue audio output remains muted. Please note that digital audio has no volume information. You must therefore turn the volume up or down on the sound system or use a universal control from the TV or player. You can select the ARC sound from display A or B.

Notes:

  • A soundbar with HDMI input and output can be operated between Matrix Switch and TV (see connection diagram). The sound can also be output via this if the video output is via the other HDMI output.
  • A soundbar with a single HDMI connection can NOT be operated on the switch via HDMI, only via SPDIF.

Der absolute Hammer!

Ich habe die Box heute Abend erhalten und was soll ich sagen ?! Ich habe alles angeschlossen, eingeschaltet und alles funktioniert sofort ohne Probleme! Mein Setup: LG OLED/Hisense C1 an einem Yamaha AVR. Die Quellen sind ein VU+ 4K Sat-Receiver und eine Nokia 8010 Android TV Streaming Box. Mein Wunsch war es das ich nicht immer umstecken muss, wenn ich über den Beamer gucken möchte. Und das funktioniert wunderbar. An Ausgang A ist der AV-Receiver angeschlossen und daran der LG OLED. An Ausgang B ist der Beamer angeschlossen. So erreiche ich das ich alle Dolby Formate an den AV-Receiver übertragen kann und ich nicht mehr umstecken muss. Außerdem erkennen Beamer und TV schneller die korrekte Auflösung und ob ein DolbyVision oder HDR Signal rein kommt. Vorher hatte ich des öfteren das der Fernseher am hin und her schalten war bis er ein sauberes DolbyVison Signal empfangen hat. Kann nur sagen macht weiter so! Außerdem finde ich die Anleitung die ich mir vorher auf dem Homepage durchgelesen habe Top! Die Sachen sind leicht verständlich und kurz und knapp auf den Punkt gebracht! Außerdem finde ich es super das man auch andere Firmware einspielen kann, auch wenn es bei mir nicht erforderlich war und ich nicht sagen kann wie gut das läuft!

Top Support, hochwertiges Produkt

Unwissend, was ich benötige, habe ich den Support angerufen und eine erstklassige Beratung erhalten, welches Produkt für meine Aufgabenstellung am besten geeignet ist.
Der Matrix Switch ist hochwertig gearbeitet, solides, angenehm haptisches Gehäuse. Die Anschlüsse sind stabil gefertigt und mit Hilfe der Bedienungsanleitung war die Inbetriebnahme ein Kinderspiel. Zusätzlich waren 2 Halter für die Wandmontage dabei - somit kann der Switch bei mir weitgehend unauffällig montiert werden.
Als zukünftige Optimierungsmöglichkeit sehe ich den Austausch einer IR Fernbedienung gegen eine solche mit Bluetooth. Dann wäre auch eine verdeckte Montage möglich.

Dieser Switch erfüllt meine Anforderungen nahezu perfekt und arbeitet bisher zuverlässig und problemfrei. Die 4 HDMI-Eingänge werden wunschgemäß an die beiden HDMI-Ausgänge durchgeschleust, parallel dazu wird der Ton eines gewählten Ausgangs an 3.5mm Klinke ODER Toslink (abhängig vom Tonformat) ausgegeben. Hier hätte es mich gefreut, den Ton an 3.5mm Klinke immer ausgeben zu können, da ich hier meine default Audioausgabe angeschlossen habe.
Dennoch: sehr gutes Gerät und eine Verbesserung gegenüber meinem bisherigen Switch (aus Fernost).

Danke für diese positive Bewertung! Wenn der Zuspieler den Ton in stereo liefert, kann der Ton stets über Klinke ausgegeben werden. Höhere Audioformate könnten aber nur zusätzlich per Klinke ausgegeben werden, wenn ein lizensierter Decoderchip und ein Downmixer integriert wären - wie bei einem AV-Receiver. Das wäre schon sehr aufwendig.
