Use your Dolby Atmos soundbar with any TV and projector

With the VAX04101 you can play the sound from external HDMI sources via a soundbar with an eARC connection. The sound then no longer depends on which audio formats the television or video projector supports. You can also play Dolby Atmos sound via a connected streaming box (e.g. Apple TV 4K, Xbox One X, Fire TV, Shield). The switch allows you to connect 3 HDMI sources such as media players, satellite receivers and PCs.

Suitable for soundbars with HDMI eARC connection

This eARC Pass Switch is compatible with soundbars with an HDMI eARC connection, such as Sonos Arc, Sonos Beam 2, Bose 900 and many more. It is best to set the audio mode to 7.1 to play the highest audio format such as Dolby Atmos. 9.1 soundbars are also optimally supplied with a 7.1 signal.

Switch Control

You can use the included infrared remote control to switch signal sources. You can also make all settings on the switch itself. Automatic switching between different players is only possible if they also switch off their HDMI output when switching off. Unfortunately, common streaming boxes and game consoles do not do this in standby mode. Therefore, for example, you cannot switch automatically with an Apple TV or Fire TV. The switchover is then carried out by pressing a button on the remote control or on the device.

Transmits the internal TV sound to the soundbar

If you have connected a television with an HDMI-ARC port, you can also output the internal TV sound via the soundbar. To do this, switch the switch to input 1. This way you can listen to TV programs (SAT TV / cable TV) or smart TV apps via the soundbar. Please note, however, that this only supports sound formats that your TV supports.

This allows a Dolby Atmos soundbar to be used with any projector, television or monitor.

Connect 3 HDMI media players to your eARC soundbar

With the VAX04101, you can play audio from external HDMI sources through a soundbar with an eARC connection. The sound is then no longer dependent on which audio formats the TV or video projector supports. This also allows you to play Dolby Atmos sound from a connected streaming box (such as Apple TV 4K, Xbox One X, Fire TV, or Shield). The switch allows you to connect up to three HDMI sources, such as a media player, satellite receiver, and PC. Switching to the last activated device is automatic, or can be done manually via a button on the front of the device or with an infrared remote control. If a TV with an HDMI-ARC connection is connected, the TV's internal audio can also be played through the soundbar. This means that audio from cable TV, satellite TV, and smart TV apps is also routed through the soundbar.

On the VAX04101, select the audio EDID to set the maximum audio format to 7.1, 5.1, or 2.0, or to automatically use the display's EDID (even 9.1 soundbars, etc., will benefit from a 7.1 signal). If your soundbar has HDMI inputs, connected HDMI sources can also be played back. For video, the switch supports Ultra HD resolutions up to 2160p at 60Hz, 3D, and HDR formats such as HLG-HDR, HDR10, and Dolby Vision. All audio formats (including Dolby TrueHD with Dolby Atmos, Dolby MAT, and LPCM 5.1/7.1) can be transmitted via eARC.

If your TV currently outputs audio from external devices with a time delay, this switch solves the problem. The switch delivers the audio to both the TV and the soundbar simultaneously.

The switch is updateable via USB and a Windows PC. The switch ships with the latest firmware. Not suitable for soundbars with an HDMI-ARC connection! Only suitable for soundbars with the newer HDMI-eARC connection (e.g., Sonos Arc, Sonos Bean Gen. 2, Bose 900).

Works great!

Works great, does what it should do. I’m using AppleTV, blu-ray player and computer and I am splitting sound to Sonos Arc and video to Acer projector (full HD, not 4K). So far no problem at all.

Works perfect

Very good product. I use it with a Philips tv with Arc and a Sonor Arc thats supports eArc . I wanted to get the all that the Sonos Arc offers but i did not know it was that bad. This switch changed my soundbar completly. It now sound like it should. Perfect sound with nice Atmos feeling and over all better sound.

It was this or a new tv. My tv is pretty good so i decided to buy the switch instead.

Great product, stellar support

I have a peculiar setup, with a pc and Fire TV as inputs and a 4k Eizo monitor as output, connected with display port and HDMI. Sonos system as audio. (arc/era 300/sub and now Arc Ultra)

In Windows 11, the two monitor connections are seen as two different monitors, so I mirrored them in display options.

I use the two connections because my monitor is 4.4.4 10-bit through the display port and 4.2.2 10bit through HDMI. For photo retouching like I do, chroma subsampling is not good. But I need HDMI for PC audio.

The VAX04101 worked straight out of the box even with a not perfect HDMI cable to the monitor (as I discovered later) but I had to use 5.1 EDID, that granted me Atmos on Fire TV and PCM multichannel 5.1 on PC. It was fine I thought I did not need Atmos on Pc.

At some point in time, I contacted customer support and explained my situation, and even after all their suggestions, I was stuck where I was before. Then, they sent me a firmware upgrade. Before updating, I tried a different full HD monitor, and then I could hear sound from the PC with EDID 7.1, but still no Dolby atmos. The Dolby access app setup wouldn't work. I tried to change the HDMI monitor cable, nothing new on the audio side, but I had 4k video on my primary monitor with EDID 7.1 on the Vax. (before, it worked only on 5.1). Ultimately, I did the firmware upgrade, and everything worked out well. I have Dolby atmos on both PC and Fire TV.

As you can see, my setup is very complex to troubleshoot, including the exotic monitor, PC, and all its software. But Henrik from support helped me in every step with patience, kindness and fast response.

I couldn't be happier with the product and the experience with Feintech. This VAX04101 is a lot cheaper than the only worthy alternative, Fury Arcana and a switch, which will cost double the price.
The people at Feintech are great, and there is nothing more to add.

Besser als erwartet

Ich hatte zu vor einige günstige HDMI Switches die eigentlich immer recht problematisch waren aber dann irgendwie doch getan haben. Jetzt stand ich aber vor der Herausforderung meine neue Sonos Arc Ultra mit meinem Beamer verbinden zu müssen und zusätzlich noch GigaTV Box von Vodafone, Konsole und FireTv Stick. Danke an den YT Kanal von Heimkinoraum, dass ihr mich auf dieses Gerät aufmerksam gemacht habt!
Schön wäre wenn es zukünftig vielleicht auch ein Gerät mit 6 oder mehr HDMI Ports geben würde.

This product is great! I was having trouble with audio lagging behind the video when the soundbar was connected to my TV’s HDMI ARC port (not eARC), and routing the signal through this product fixed the problem.

Das Gerät ist hochwertig verarbeitet, funktioniert perfekt. Einzig habe ich noch etwas Probleme beim Zusammenspiel von Apple TV und Sonos Arc. Sonos Arc startet nicht aus dem Standbymodus ohne aus und einschalten. Ich arbeite daran 😉 Ansonsten alles tadellos 👍

Adding the possibility in firmware to use the existing usb-connection to toggle the active source port would be awesome (4 to 5 stars) as a future improvement.

Nothing fancy required, would suspect open source / tinkerers like myself to clean it up with good apis and integrations (e.g. home assistant and similar).

Ordered an irdroid ir blaster as a workaround, hopefully it will be able to learn from your remote. Otherwise having the ir codes available in your documentation would be very helpful.

Es funktioniert!

Der hdmi Switch funktioniert wie beschrieben. Leider haken Ton und Bild ein wenig beim Zappen. In Ausnahmefällen passiert dies auch im Programm. Ich nutze den Switch mit einem älteren Samsung Tv (earc), Sky Q und Bose Soundbar

Bin zufrieden

Ich nutze den Switch zur Übertragung von DTS-Ton an die Sennheiser Soundbar Ambeo Mini, da mein Fernseher kein Durchschleifen von DTS-Tonformaten zulässt, ich aber gerade bei Filmen nicht darauf verzichten will. Leider hat die Soundbar nur einen eARC-Anschluss und keinen zusätzlichen HDMI-Eingang. Angeschlossen sind Blu-ray-Player, PS5 und Sky-Receiver. Die automatische Umschaltung klappt außer beim Sky-Receiver beim Ausschalten, doch das hatte ich irgendwo gelesen, dass das sein kann, weil der Receiver nicht sofort in den Standby geht. Dafür ist der Ton bei allen Quellen jetzt synchron, was über den TV nicht der Fall war. Auch wird DTS-HD oder Dolby Atmos ausgegeben, und ich habe den Eindruck, dass es über den Switch noch besser klingt als über den Fernseher.
Einzig dass der Switch keinen Aus-Schalter hat, bin ich sehr zufrieden. Das Problem habe ich aber mit einer steuerbaren Steckdose gelöst.

Keiner Verzögerung mehr mit Panasonic TV

Ich hatte das Problem, dass ich bei meiner Bose Soundbar 900 bei Dolby immer eine Verzögerung hatte. Ich konnte nicht damit leben, dass nur der Ton per PCM Stereo herausgegeben wurde. Mit diesem Switch wurde das Problem endlich gelöst. Außerdem kann ich jetzt auch Dolby Atmos wiedergeben über meine Magenta TV One und PS5, da mein Fernseher dies nicht unterstützt. Die Verarbeitung macht auf mich auch einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck. Es lohnt sich!
Außerdem wurde meine Frage an den Kundenservice sehr zeitnah und gut beantwortet!

Funktioniert problemlos, tut was es soll. Ein/Aus Schalter wäre wünschenswert, jetzt über eine schaltbare Stromleiste gelöst.

Super Support & gutes Produkt.

Da weder mein PC noch mein Monitor über einen eArc Ausgang für die Sonos Arc verfügen brauchte ich eine andere Lösung um die Arc mit Dolby Atmos betreiben zu können. Also schnell im Sonos forum nachgefragt und darauf diesen Switch über Amazon gekauft. Leider ist mir erst bei der Auslieferung aufgefallen dass es sich um ein gebrauchtes Produkt handelte. Ob das Produkt nun einen Defekt hatte oder einfach die alte Version am nicht funktionieren schuld war lässt sich leider nicht mehr herrausfinden da der switch beim updaten ganz den Geist aufgegeben hatte. Der Support hat in der ganzen Zeit schnell und freundlich geantwortet und wollte mir am Ende einen neuen zusenden. Habe dann aber den Artikel an Amazon zurück geschickt und über diese Seite einen neuen bestellt. Dieser wurde offensichtlich von feintech ausgepackt und dann das neuste Update drauf gespielt. Dieser neue switch funktioniert seither einwandfrei.
