This allows a Dolby Atmos soundbar to be used with any projector, television or monitor.

Connect 3 HDMI media players to your eARC soundbar

With the VAX04101, you can play audio from external HDMI sources through a soundbar with an eARC connection. The sound is then no longer dependent on which audio formats the TV or video projector supports. This also allows you to play Dolby Atmos sound from a connected streaming box (such as Apple TV 4K, Xbox One X, Fire TV, or Shield). The switch allows you to connect up to three HDMI sources, such as a media player, satellite receiver, and PC. Switching to the last activated device is automatic, or can be done manually via a button on the front of the device or with an infrared remote control. If a TV with an HDMI-ARC connection is connected, the TV's internal audio can also be played through the soundbar. This means that audio from cable TV, satellite TV, and smart TV apps is also routed through the soundbar.

On the VAX04101, select the audio EDID to set the maximum audio format to 7.1, 5.1, or 2.0, or to automatically use the display's EDID (even 9.1 soundbars, etc., will benefit from a 7.1 signal). If your soundbar has HDMI inputs, connected HDMI sources can also be played back. For video, the switch supports Ultra HD resolutions up to 2160p at 60Hz, 3D, and HDR formats such as HLG-HDR, HDR10, and Dolby Vision. All audio formats (including Dolby TrueHD with Dolby Atmos, Dolby MAT, and LPCM 5.1/7.1) can be transmitted via eARC.

If your TV currently outputs audio from external devices with a time delay, this switch solves the problem. The switch delivers the audio to both the TV and the soundbar simultaneously.

The switch is updateable via USB and a Windows PC. The switch ships with the latest firmware. Not suitable for soundbars with an HDMI-ARC connection! Only suitable for soundbars with the newer HDMI-eARC connection (e.g., Sonos Arc, Sonos Bean Gen. 2, Bose 900).
