ProFibre armored HDMI MPO fiber optic cable
with true full fiber optic transmission up to 48 Gbit/s and detachable HDMI connectors
The ProFibre HDMI cable is a fully optical HDMI transmission system, transmitting all HDMI signals exclusively via fiber optics – including video, audio, HDCP, CEC, ARC, and eARC. Unlike conventional HDMI AOC cables, the ProFibre uses no copper conductors, thus offering maximum signal stability and absolute EMC immunity – even over very long distances. Thanks to its detachable HDMI connectors and extra-thin, armored MPO fiber optic cable, the ProFibre is particularly easy and secure to install, even through narrow conduits and over long distances. Ideal for demanding home theater installations, professional AV setups, and environments with high technical requirements.
True fiber optic technology without compromise.
The ProFibre HDMI cable is a fully optical HDMI transmission system and differs fundamentally from classic HDMI AOC cables, which are often marketed as fiber optic HDMI cables. While conventional AOC solutions transmit audio and video signals via fiber optics, control and return channel signals such as CEC, HDCP, ARC, and eARC still use copper conductors.
In contrast, the ProFibre relies entirely on fiber optic transmission. All HDMI signals – including uncompressed audio and video data, HDCP copy protection, CEC control, as well as ARC and eARC – are transmitted completely optically. This effectively prevents signal loss over long distances, and the audio return channel remains stable and reliable even over long transmission distances.
48 Gbit/s bandwidth for HDMI 2.1 and modern features
Thanks to modern MPO multi-fiber technology, the ProFibre HDMI cable achieves a data rate of up to 48 Gbit/s and is therefore designed for uncompressed HDMI 2.1 signals. It supports current features such as VRR, ALLM, and QFT, which ensure smooth image reproduction and minimal latency, especially in gaming setups and modern AV installations.
The combination of high bandwidth, very low attenuation, and stable fiber optic transmission enables transmission distances of up to 300 meters – without signal amplifiers or quality loss. This makes the ProFibre ideal for high-performance home theater setups and professional long-distance installations.
Uninterrupted transmission even in demanding environments
Thanks to its purely optical signal transmission, the ProFibre is completely immune to electromagnetic interference, ground loops, and differing electrical potentials. This makes it particularly suitable for home theaters with AV receivers and soundbars over long distances, as well as for professional installations, industrial environments, or buildings with complex power supplies.
Compact MPO plug-in technology for easy and safe installation
The ProFibre uses MPO connectors from professional networking technology, which bundle multiple optical fibers into a single compact connector, thus enabling the high data rate of modern HDMI signals. MPO connectors are significantly slimmer than standard HDMI connectors, making installation considerably easier. Combined with the very thin fiber optic cable, the ProFibre can be easily routed through narrow conduits with an inner diameter of approximately 16 mm or more – even over long distances.
Additionally, the fiber optic cable is armored, providing better protection against kinking and mechanical stress. This ensures greater safety during installation and reliably protects the sensitive optical fibers even in challenging installation situations.
Easy installation with high reliability
The ProFibre HDMI cable is installed using HDMI-MPO converters, which are connected to the source and display. These are then connected to the fiber optic cable via the included MPO adapters. Before final installation, it is recommended to thoroughly test the combination of cable, converters, and connected devices to ensure smooth operation.
First, the short MPO connectors, which are permanently attached to the HDMI plugs, are inserted into the respective MPO adapters. Ensure the correct orientation of the connector tab – an audible click confirms proper locking. Next, the long MPO fiber optic cable is connected to the available adapter ports until the locking mechanism engages. Avoid touching the fiber optic contact surfaces to prevent contamination. Remove the protective caps immediately before connecting and replace them after disconnecting.
The HDMI connectors are also powered via USB, either through the USB ports of the connected devices or via a separate USB power adapter. The USB power cables are detachable and can be replaced with shorter or longer cables if needed, allowing for flexible adaptation to different installation situations.
For reliable operation of CEC, ARC, and eARC, ensure that the source HDMI connector is continuously powered. After connecting and powering on the devices, the system is immediately ready for use.
Note regarding signal direction
The ProFibre HDMI system is directional. Make sure to connect the Source HDMI connector to the signal source, such as an AV receiver, soundbar, PC, or game console. The Display HDMI connector is then connected to the display device, such as a TV, projector, or monitor. Only with correct connection is flawless transmission of all HDMI signals, including eARC and CEC, guaranteed.
