One player supplies up to 2 devices
- Allows distribution of an HDMI source to 2 displays (monitor, TV, projector) or AV receiver, automatic downscaler for Full HD displays with UHD source (2160p to 1080p)
- EDID control for using devices with different picture & sound options (TV Copy, STD 4K fix mode) - You get the optimal AV format when the best display is connected to HDMI Out 1 and EDID in TV mode
- Supports HDMI 2.0 max. 18 Gbit/s, all resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz YUV 4:4:4 Ultra-HD 4K as well as HDR (HDR10, Dolby Vision) and HDCP 2. 2 copy protection
- Supports DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby True-HD (incl. Atmos), Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, LPCM 5.1/7.1, stereo, among others
This 1×2 HDMI splitter delivers the audio-video signal from a source (e.g. Blu-ray player, game console, satellite receiver, streaming box) to 2 HDMI devices at the same time. So you can connect a TV and a video grabber or video projector and even use them in parallel. No switching is required, the splitter distributes the output signal to both HDMI devices at the same time. Video resolutions up to 4K – also called Ultra HD or UHD – are supported. The maximum data rate is 18 Gbps.
EDID management
The connected devices communicate via EDID about their capabilities (including supported image resolution and sound format). If you want to operate 2 displays that support different video resolutions, this is possible with this splitter.
TV: The output is optimal for the display at output 1. The player behaves as if he were only directly connected to this display. Exactly the same format is available at output 2. The capabilities of display 1 (audio & video) also determine the output for the other displays. Special case: If the player and display 1 support a 4K video resolution, but the other display only supports Full HD, this video signal is scaled to 1080p. (Display 1 still gets 4k).
STD : In the "STD" position, the splitter provides an artificial EDID that is compatible with most devices. This means you always have picture and sound, but perhaps not the optimal one for your devices. We can change this STD EDID via firmware 4K 60Hz SDR stereo is stored here when delivered.
Please note:
- Many HDMI players also offer manual selection of video resolution and audio format. In most cases, the format can only be reduced.
- A display with an unusual video resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ or for 3D video can be optimally used when connected to output 1.
- If the player outputs an Ultra HD video to the 4K display, the downscaler is activated for another device that can only do Full HD.
- As with all splitters, downscaling is only possible from exactly 3840x2160p to exactly 1920x1080p. So a computer monitor with 1440p will display 1080p.
- If the main device forces HDR video output in Dolby Vision or HDR10+, Full HD screens will not be able to display it correctly. The Full HD image would be very colour distorted in these HDR formats. Then turn off HDR on the player.
- There are some soundbars that only have an HDMI ARC port. This is not a true HDMI input, but an output with audio return channel! You cannot operate a soundbar like this via an HDMI output on the splitter. But only on the HDMI input on the television that is marked “HDMI ARC” or eARC. To be specific, you can't use a Sonos or Bose soundbar on the HDMI outputs.
