Transmit TV sound thanks to ARC support

With ARC (Audio Return Channel), you can effortlessly play your TV's internal audio through your sound system. Connect the AX211 to the HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC port on your display and activate eARC. The AX211 automatically detects whether the sound is coming from the TV source or an external device for a smooth audio experience.

HDMI Audio Extractor

The AX211 HDMI 2.1 Audio Extractor is a powerful solution for seamlessly transmitting sound from an HDMI source to your HDMI sound system. It passes the audio signal through an HDMI output while simultaneously allowing lossless transmission of the video signal to your display. Whether modern TVs, older AV receivers or gaming headphones with an HDMI connection - the AX211 is ideal for all setups.

Whether you're using gaming consoles like the PS5 or Xbox, a PC, or streaming boxes like Apple TV and Fire TV, the AX211 offers the flexibility to combine older sound systems with new displays, supporting high-resolution sound formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to ensure an immersive sound experience.

The AX211 optimizes audio transmission by eliminating possible latency, ensuring audio quality remains high at all times. The AX211 can also play audio formats that your TV may not support, such as DTS, so you can get the most out of your audio sources, regardless of the TV's limitations. With support for the latest HDMI standards, the AX211 guarantees outstanding audio and video quality for all your entertainment needs.

Supports resolutions up to 8K 60Hz and 4K 120Hz

The AX211 supports impressive resolutions of up to 8K at 60Hz HDR and 4K at 120Hz, with a maximum data rate of 48 Gbps. Thanks to backward compatibility to lower resolutions, the AX211 ensures lossless video and audio transmission, regardless of the source used. In addition, it offers HDMI 2.1 gaming features such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), which reduce image stuttering and enable smooth gameplay. Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) ensures that latency is automatically minimized, further improving response time in games. This means you can enjoy the best picture and sound quality both when gaming and streaming.

ARC support

Thanks to ARC (Audio Return Channel) support, the AX211 enables seamless audio transmission from the TV to the connected sound system. Simply connect the AX211 to the HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC port on your display and activate the eARC function. The AX211 automatically detects whether the sound is coming from the connected source or the TV, ensuring effortless switching. This function improves your home theater experience by creating an easy connection between your TV and the sound system while ensuring high-quality audio output. Whether you're streaming movies or playing games, you'll always get the best sound. In addition, it's possible to connect a monitor or video projector without ARC function and deactivate eARC, giving you flexibility in choosing your devices.

Flexible EDID management: Customize audio and video formats

The AX211 features flexible EDID management that allows you to customize the maximum supported audio and video formats. The integrated dip switch lets you choose between different EDID modes to ensure that your audio and video output is optimally tailored to your connected devices. This improves compatibility with different displays and sound systems and prevents potential conflicts in signal output. With this feature, you can ensure that both image and sound quality remain at the highest level, regardless of the source or connected device.

Great product

Its a great product, and it works like it should. I first had some problems with hdr to sdr switching on my google tv streamer, however, that was gone after a firmware update, to which they had kindly send me a link. now it just works. I got dolby digital 5.1 to my denon avr 1312, and 4k hdr to my monitor.

A Helpful Device to Make an AV Receiver Last Longer

Works as described with the bandwidth to deliver 4K 120Hz and Dolby Atmos. After trying a cheaper splitter from another company which was limited to HDMI 2.0, I can say that from a PC with AMD 7800XT to my older Onkyo TX-NR636 (Atmos) & Samsung 4K 120Hz TV, this splitter succeeds in the HDMI 2.1 capabilities that I was after.

PC games work with low latency 5.1 surround sound via the appropriate EDID settings and 4K HDR films and TV are output well via the alternative EDID for Atmos, in addition to the eARC output from the TV to the ARC-capable Onkyo receiver. Atmos output from games may work too, but the true Atmos output titles on PC are limited and untested for me. CEC works too The only gripe is that after turning the TV and receiver back on, the eARC output from the TV to the receiver gets stuck in PCM mode and not Dolby Digital output - something that is amended by unplugging all plugs to the splitter, then plugging all back in. I rack this up to the strange workings of eARC and ARC, rather than a shortcoming of the AX211, and am still happy with the splitter overall. Perhaps a future firmware update would help here.

I recommend the AX211 to increase the life of an older but still very capable AV receiver to match more modern TVs and entertainment sources while reducing negative impact/waste to the environment.

Perfekt

Ich nutze es mit einem Denon AVR 3313 und Samsung U55 (ca. 2017). Funktioniert perfekt mit Linux und Nintendo Switch 2.

Solide Konstruktion, extrem einfache Bedienung, kaum Stromverbrauch.

Sehr hilfreiches Produkt

1.) LG C4 HDMI IN 2 (eARC) -> AX211 HDMI OUT TV (eARC)
2.) Denon X4800H HDMI OUT (eARC) -> AX211 HDMI IN Source
3.) AX211 HDMI AUDIO OUT Amp -> Denon X4800H HDMI IN 4.

Sehr guter HDMI 2.1 HD Audio-Extractor

Einfach Klasse!!

It actually works!

So you're stuck with an 4K / 120Hz / G-Sync / VRR / HDR capable TV but your older high-end hifi AV receiver doesn't support these things? If you ask HiFi stores, they'll try to sell you a new AV receiver.

Well no more. You can just buy this thing, and it works! I finally can enjoy my 5.1 / 7.1 audio on my PC (connected to TV) AND have 4k 120Hz HDR & G-Sync enabled. I'm beyond excited. This device works flawlessly and it works instantly.

Be sure to set the 3 switches on the front correctly to match your setup! If you want 5.1 audio on PC from video games, you need to put it on 000!

Thank you FeinTech for saving me a lot of money buying a new AV receiver.

Hi 👋🏻😁
If I use it with an PC or an Xbox and enable Dolby Atmos, but my AVR does not support Atmos/MAT, will the AX-211 convert MAT to multichannel PCM automatically?
Or does the AVR still receive MAT and stay silent?
Thanks!

FeinTech

No typical audio extractor converts audio formats. And you can't play Atmos if your AVR doesn't has an Atmos Decoder and Renderer. You could force the player to output Atmos if you use AX211. But the AVR stays mute then. So I am afraid there's no possibility to retrofit Atmos.

D
Dan

Hi, my TV is a Samsung Q77T from 2019/2020, the first ones with eARC compatible with ATMOS. I’ve noticed that detecting Atmos can be a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes my AVR switches to Dolby Digital only, instead of Dolby Digital Plus (which enables Atmos), and it seems like the TV isn’t recognizing it properly. Is there some solution?

FeinTech

If you are using an external player, you could use the AX211 to send content with Atmos to the sound system. Then the television only has to display video and does not need to forward any audio.

Hello, my setup consists of a Samsung Q930D soundbar alongside a Samsung TV, Apple TV and a PS5. I also use the PS5 as a blu-ray and 4K player. The soundbar can decode both Dolby and DTS bitstreams when the PS5 is connected to its passthrough but I lose 120Hz output, the TV can only pass Dolby bitstreams through eArc when the PS5 is directly connected. The LPCM transcode that is passed through when watching DTS-HD MA movies directly plugged into the TV is for some reason more quiet and thin sounding than the DTS bitstream decoded by the soundbar when connected directly to it. Can I use the AX211 to pass Dolby or DTS bitstream directly from the ps5 to the soundbar, while also having eArc from the TV/Apple TV on the same cable? Also, what would be the correct EDID setting, 111? Thank you.

FeinTech

Yes, you can use the AX211 here and bypass the soundbar's limitations. You can use 120Hz and VRR for gaming if your TV supports it. Also, you can play DTS-HD from PS5 bluray. The sound of TV's apps and of a directly connected Apple TV can also be played via the soundbar. Recommended EDID setting is "000".

3 questions:

If I want to use this device like the Sharc V2 or the VAX01202 (ie as an eArc extractor only), where the source device (like a game console) is connected to the TV, and the AX211 sits between the TV’s eArc and the AVR/Soundbar, and you can use it with AVR’s that do not support eArc?

Second question:
When used as an HDMI Splitter (Xbox connected to AX211, with an output to the AVR/Soundbar and another output to the TV). Can it pass DTS:X from my Xbox to my AVR even if the TV doesn’t support DTS passthrough (like with 2019-2022 LG OLEDs)?

Third Question:
Can this pass proper Freesync handshaking when used as an HDMI Splitter from AMD GPU’s or Xbox consoles, or will it revert to generic HDMI 2.1 Forum VRR? On my LG OLEDs it will indicate in the VRR menu HDMI VRR, Gsync or Freesync, as well as the LG’s Gamebar. Will it allow for proper handshaking of the different VRR variants?

FeinTech

Yes, you can extract eARC from the TV and output it to a regular HDMI input of the AVR. It also support DTS-X audio from an Xbox when it is connected to the AX211's input. This is independent from the TV's audio format support. The AX211 supports VRR according to HDMI 2.1 specs and works fine with PlayStation PS5 and Xbox. It has not been extensively tested with proprietary formats of computer graphic cards. It is likely that it works if the graphic card has an HDMI output and not only DisplayPort. However, it can't be guaranteed.

Hello, what is the difference between ax211 and ax310? I noticed that in the description one is for soundbars and other for receivers, but other than that I could not find any technical differences. I currently have an ax211 and I was planning to use it with Sonos soundbar, is there something I will be missing out on compared to ax310?

FeinTech

The AX211 is compatible with HDMI Input ports. The AX310 is made for HDMI eARC/ARC-ports. If you want to connect the Sonos soundbar you'll need the AX310 as the Sonos soundbars come only with one HDMI eARC-port.
