HDMI signals are reliably transmitted via a network cable

With the HX230, you can transmit 4K 60 Hz HDMI content losslessly over distances of up to 70 meters – ideal for home theaters, conference rooms, training sessions, or presentation systems. Instead of long, rigid HDMI cables, a single flexible CAT6 or CAT7 cable is all you need, which is easy to route. This allows you to reliably connect the source and display even over longer distances without compromising picture or sound quality.

Brilliant 4K picture quality with HDR and Dolby Vision

Experience crystal-clear 4K content at 60 Hz with full color resolution (4:4:4) and HDR support, including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Motion appears fluid, colors vibrant – ideal for home cinema, gaming, or professional presentations. At the same time, support for high-resolution audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD, and PCM up to 7.1 channels ensures impressive sound. Even over longer distances, the quality remains stable and reliable.

Long range up to 70 meters

HDMI signals can be transmitted losslessly over a single CAT6 or CAT7 cable up to 70 meters. The system achieves a maximum data rate of 18 Gbit/s and transmits 4K content at 60 Hz with full color resolution (4:4:4). Both SDR and HDR formats are supported, allowing movies, games, and presentations to be displayed in brilliant Ultra HD quality. This range enables flexible installations, even when the source and display are far apart, without compromising picture or sound quality.

Power over Cable (POC) for easy power supply

Thanks to Power over Cable (POC), a single power supply is sufficient to power both the transmitter and receiver. It doesn't matter which device the power supply is connected to; power is automatically supplied via the network cable. This reduces cabling requirements and ensures a clean, flexible installation.

HDMI loop-out for two displays simultaneously

With the integrated HDMI loop-out, you can display your signal simultaneously on two screens – without an additional splitter or loss of quality. This allows you, for example, to control a presentation in another room and keep track of everything via a control screen. Or you can broadcast sporting events to the TV in the living room and to a projector on the patio, so everyone can enjoy the game from their own room, whichever suits your situation best.

Audio extractor with ARC for flexible sound

The receiver's integrated audio extractor routes the audio signal from the media player connected to the transmitter via optical Toslink to a hi-fi system or AV receiver, outputting audio in up to 5.1 surround sound. This allows you to enjoy presentations, sporting events, or movies with powerful, clear sound while the picture remains unchanged on your TV or projector. Additionally, ARC (Audio Return Channel) can be activated on the receiver, enabling audio from the connected display to be output via the Toslink output – ideal for internal TV apps or other HDMI sources connected to the display. This gives you flexibility in your setup and ensures the best possible sound.

Flexible IR relay for easy remote control

The HX230 supports bidirectional IR signal transmission, allowing you to conveniently control your HDMI source or remote display with an infrared remote. This lets you operate the source from another room or control the remote display without having to be right next to the device.

Flexible EDID management for maximum compatibility

The integrated EDID switch lets you precisely adjust the supported audio and video formats to your devices. This allows you to specify whether the EDID of the remote display, the local display, or a fixed setting for 4K @ 60 Hz SDR stereo or 1080p stereo is used. This avoids compatibility issues and ensures that the optimal signal parameters are always transmitted to the source and display. The DIP switch on the transmitter allows you to quickly select the appropriate modes.

Installation and operation

1. Connect the HDMI output of your source device to the HDMI input of the HX230 transmitter.
2. Optional: Additionally, connect a local display (TV, monitor or AV receiver) to the transmitter's HDMI output.
3. Connect the HX230 transmitter and receiver using a CAT6 or better Ethernet cable.
4. Connect the HX230 receiver to the remote display (TV or video projector) via HDMI.
5. Optional: Connect an audio system via the Toslink output on the receiver.
6. Use the EDID switch to set whether the output should be optimized for the local display (00), the remote display (11) or a fixed setting (4K 60Hz SDR Stereo / 1080p Stereo).
7. Connect the power supply to the transmitter or receiver and plug it into the wall socket. One power supply is sufficient thanks to Power over Cable (POC).
8. First, turn on the end devices (TV, projector, sound system).
9. Then turn on the player and start playback.

Note : Please be aware that this HDMI extender cannot be used with a network switch or in an Ethernet connection! A continuous network cable of CAT6 or better must be used between the transmitter and receiver.
