Use as transmitter
Use as receiver
Supported audio codecs and latency
Audio transmitter or receiver, with battery for mobile use
- Function as audio transmitter or receiver can be set, inputs and outputs 3.5 mm jack analog or SPDIF Toslink digital
- Supports all old and latest audio devices with SBC as well as HD audio formats aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX and AAC for low-delay, high-quality audio transmission
- As a transmitter, ideal for connecting to a TV or console, sends sound to wireless headphones, with aptX Low Latency almost no latency and ideal for gaming, live music or television
- As an audio receiver, music from the smartphone is played back on the hi-fi system or enables wireless transmission to cable headphones with control of volume, track forward/back and pause
- Chipset CSR BC8675, at least 10 m range, integrated battery with approx. 20 hours of operating time (or 14 hours of running time with SPDIF connection)
- Supports multipoint, dualpoint (simultaneous pairing with 2 smartphones or playback on 2 headphones)
Transmitter or receiver mode
With this device you can transmit the sound of an audio source wirelessly in transmitter/transmitter mode (TX) and play it back with wireless headphones or speakers. In receiver/receiver mode (RX), you can receive an audio signal and play it back on the audio amplifier, wired headphones or similar. Power can be supplied via the built-in battery or a USB-A port. The function as a transmitter or receiver can be adjusted using the slide switch. It cannot be sent and received at the same time. One of the devices (source or speakers/headphones/audio amplifier) must be connected via cable.
Compatibility and audio codecs
The adapter is compatible with all older and latest audio devices. Because it not only supports the standard codec SBC, but also the high-quality formats aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX and AAC. (AAC is only supported in receive mode) This not only results in better sound. Latency is also reduced. This is the name given to the time delay that occurs during processing and signal transmission. With aptX Low Latency, the transmission occurs almost in real time. This is especially important for musicians and when watching television. Used there, you will get the sound synchronous with the picture if your headphones also support the aptX Low Latency Codec. The ABT00101 is therefore ideal for connecting to a television and then sending the sound to wireless headphones. Thanks to Multipoint, you can even connect to 2 headphones at the same time.
The best possible codec is always used so that your audio device is optimally supported. The codec used is indicated by the flashing colored LED.
You can deactivate aptX HD for time-critical applications such as sound transmission while watching films, playing games or playing music. Then aptX Low Latency is used as the best codec if supported. To deactivate aptX HD, turn off the ABT00101 and press and hold the multifunction button for 8 seconds. The LED flashes green once. To reactivate, press again for 8 seconds. The LED then flashes twice.
Operation and running time
When used as an audio receiver, for example, music from the smartphone is played back on the hi-fi system or on the car radio (or enables conventional cable headphones to transmit wirelessly). You can use the buttons to control the volume, skip tracks forward/back or pause. In transmitter mode, these buttons have no function.
The built-in battery provides approx. 20 hours of operating time (or 14 hours of running time with an SPDIF connection). The adapter is charged or permanently supplied with power via the USB micro socket. The ABT00101 supports multipoint (2 headphones listen to the transmitter at the same time) and dual-link (2 smartphones are connected to the receiver at the same time and used mutually). The analog and digital connections CANNOT be used at the same time. As soon as a jack plug is inserted, the optical connections switch off.
