Use as a transmitter

The function as a transmitter is set using the slide switch. The adapter is ideal for connection to a television, keyboard or game console. It then sends the sound to wireless headphones or speakers. Thanks to multipoint, it can even send to 2 headphones at the same time. The adapter is connected analogue via a 3.5 mm jack (typical headphone jack) or digitally via Toslink / optical fibre. The digital optical transmission offers the best possible quality and prevents humming because there is no longer an electrical connection.

In bypass mode, the input signal is routed to the outputs (digital and analog).

Use as a receiver

When used as an audio receiver, for example, music from the smartphone is played back on the hi-fi system or on the car radio (or enables conventional cable headphones to be transmitted wirelessly). You can use the buttons on the adapter to control the volume, skip tracks forwards/backwards or pause. The ABT00102 supports multipoint or dual link. 2 smartphones are connected to the receiver at the same time and used alternately. So when music playback from smartphone 1 is paused, music can be played seamlessly from smartphone 2. No new pairing is required.

Supported audio codecs and latency

The adapter not only supports the standard codec, but also the high-quality formats aptX HD, aptX Low Latency and aptX . Important to know: the paired device must also support the respective standard. The adapter always tries to pair with the best possible standard. The codec used is displayed via an LED.

The higher data rate of aptX and especially aptX HD results in better sound. That's not the only advantage. Latency is also reduced. This is the time delay that occurs during processing and signal transmission. With aptX Low Latency, the transmission takes place almost in real time. This is especially important for musicians and gamers. When used when watching TV, you get the sound synchronized with the picture if your headphones also support this codec.

Audio transmitter or receiver as well as converter between analog and digital

With this device you can wirelessly transmit the sound of an audio source in transmitter/transmitter mode (TX) and play it back with wireless headphones or speakers. In receiver/receiver mode (RX), you can receive a audio signal and play it back on an audio amplifier, wired headphones or similar. You can use the buttons to control the volume, skip tracks forward/back or pause. In transmitter mode, these buttons have no function.

In bypass mode you loop through an audio signal or have it converted to digital/analog. A digital input signal SPDIF is converted to analog at the jack output, and vice versa. Power is supplied via a USB-A port or a USB power adapter (not included). You can ideally operate the ABT00102 via a USB socket on the television or player. The ABT00102 then always switches on.

Supported audio codecs

The audio codecs SBC, aptX, aptX Low Latency and aptX HD are supported. The paired remote station must support the same codec. Otherwise it remains with SBC standard codec. It automatically tries to use the highest quality codec aptX HD - ideal for music. If you instead want a transmission with as little delay as possible, you can switch off aptX HD - ideal for watching TV and gaming. Then an attempt is made to establish a connection in aptX Low Latency. If you want to use the ABT00102 on the television, please set the sound to PCM/stereo in the TV menu. Because Dolby Digital or Bitstream are not supported.

Multipoint

You can pair the ABT00102 with 2 headphones (Dualpoint) or 2 audio sources (Multipoint) at the same time. This means, for example, that the television sound can be transmitted to two users with headphones. Everyone can adjust their individual volume on the headphones. This also works with aptX Low Latency if both headphones support it.

Not all headphones work properly when a second pair of headphones is paired. Unfortunately, this feature is often poorly documented in headphones. There can be problems with transmission or pairing, especially with “True Wireless” headphones. Such completely wireless headphones establish a second connection, from the right to the left earphone. Some headphones explicitly state in the description that they support multipoint / dualpoint. It works pretty well with those.

Ich war schon lange auf der Suche nach einem Gerät, mit dem ich sowohl Musik vom Handy per Bluetooth auf meiner alten, analogen Stereoanlage abspielen, als auch den Sound vom Chromecast abgreifen und ebenfalls über die Stereoanlage ausgeben kann. Das Gerät von Feintec erfüllt beide Voraussetzung in bisher makelloser Güte.
Vor allem war ich von der guten, telefonischen Beratung angetan! Ich habe meine Anforderungen geschildert und innerhalb kürzester Zeit wurde mir das gekaufte Gerät vorgeschlagen. Ich selber wäre nie auf die Idee gekommen den optischen Ausgang vom Fernseher für das Sound Signal vom Chromecast zu nutzen.
Ich glaube wenn die Anwendungsfälle auf der Homepage noch besser und vor allem für nicht so Hifi technikaffine Menschen beschrieben wären, würden noch mehr dieser Geräte verkauft werden.
