For operating older AV receivers with 4K TV or video projectors

This HDMI switch allows you to connect up to 4 HDMI sources to one TV HDMI input. In addition, it supplies the audio signal via HDMI for an AV receiver or a soundbar, e.g. in Dolby Atmos or DTS-HD sound format. Alternatively, analog stereo sound can be transmitted to headphones or active speakers. Or digital 2.0/5.1 sound via SPDIF Toslink.
Supported formats
The switch supports HDMI 2.0b with 4K@60Hz Ultra-HD as well as HDR10, HLG-HDR and Dolby Vision. It is backwards compatible to lower resolutions. The audio EDID can be changed manually using the audio mode switch. With the audio mode switch you can limit the audio format that the HDMI source delivers. Note that the same audio format applies to all outputs. Only newer televisions can process 7.1 sound, older TVs remain silent. While the player delivers HD audio, a simultaneously output via SPDIF or analog is not possible.
These are the Audio EDID modes:
- Pass: Bypass, the output depends on the best sound format that the device connected to HDMI out B supports. 7.1 sound is also possible .
- 2.0: The output is in stereo on all outputs.
- 5.1: Output is in 5.1 audio format (only if 5.1 audio track is available.)
HD sound formats such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby MAT (Atmos) and DTS-HD can only be transmitted via HDMI. Digital stereo (LPCM 2.0) or 5.1 sound (Dolby Digital / AC-3 or DTS) can be transmitted via SPDIF Toslink, depending on the source media. Digital sound formats have no adjustable volume. Usually this can only be controlled on the audio amplifier. Many TVs or players like Apple TV or Fire TV have a function to send infrared remote control commands for the volume to the AVR directly.
Switching between the inputs is possible automatically (auto-switching) or manually using the remote control or control button. When you switch on a connected HDMI source, it automatically switches to this input. If you switch off the HDMI source, it switches to the previously used HDMI input. Some devices (like Apple TV) do not switch off their HDMI output in standby, so that the switch is always signaled that the device is switched on. To get around this, you can turn off the auto-switching function.
- ARC (Audio Return Channel) for outputting TV sound via the SPDIF digital output is supported (NO output at the analogue output).

A notice:
Cannot be used on the HDMI ARC/eARC port of a Sonos system. Sonos doesn't have a normal HDMI input. A soundbar that only has a single HDMI port cannot be operated with the switch. However, such a soundbar can be operated optically on HDMI using an optical cable or adapter.
