With this HDMI splitter you connect 2 HDMI end devices to one source. The HDMI splitter distributes an Ultra-HD HDMI signal (4K) to 2 HDMI devices such as a TV, monitor, beamer or AV receiver. With the so-called "pigtail" - a permanently attached HDMI cable - you connect the VSP01204 splitter directly to the HDMI output of the source. You make the connection to the two displays with 2 standard HDMI cables. The HDMI source also provides the power supply via HDMI, so in most cases you do not need another power supply. If your device does not provide enough power, insert the supplied adapter cable and use a free USB socket or a USB power supply for power.

The HDMI source automatically provides a signal compatible for both displays. Special feature: The HDMI splitter has an integrated scaler. If a 4K signal is present and both a 4K TV and a Full HD display are connected, the splitter delivers a downscaled picture in 1080p on the Full HD display. There is still Ultra HD at the other output. The refresh rate is not changed, 4K@60Hz becomes 1080p@60Hz. This has the great advantage that you can enjoy Ultra HD on the TV, for example, even if the second device can only do Full HD. Communication with HDMI CEC is still possible between the TV on HDMI out 1 and the HDMI source. ARC Audio Return Channel is NOT supported.

Recommended cable length with standard HDMI cable 26AWG: at 1080p maximum 10 m, at 4K maximum 5 m.

I've already tried a few, this one is the only one that sends the UHD signal from my 2x graphics output on the PC to the AV receiver without dropouts, which serves the HD projector! Scaler works ARC, everything top! Clear purchase recommendation!

Works great: UHD FullHD 3D Scale Down

I connected an old plasma TV and a UHD projector to the outputs of the splitter. An HDMI AV receiver is connected to the input. The splitter immediately output the 4k signal with 60 Hz to the projector and scaled it down to 1080p to the television without any problems. So you don't have to reconnect or unplug anything for the 4k signal to go through. 3D on the projector also went through without unplugging the FullHD television (without 3D). I have a converter from HDCP 2.2 to 1.4 on the FireTV Stick 4k because my Yamaha AV receiver does not speak HDCP 2.2, but can do 4k. So in this constellation I only tested with HDCP 1.4.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do connected to PS4 Pro.

Wanted to operate my PS4 Pro with 4k 60hz on the TV and split the signal to my (Chinese cheap) capture card, which only supports 4k 30hz and therefore no signal could be processed. The splitter with downscaler now sends the image as intended in 4k 60hz to my TV and sends 1080p 60hz to the capture card, all automatically recognized by the device.

Works perfectly

The splitter does exactly what it is supposed to. Have 2 splitters in a row. This one here to make 4K and HD available and another HD splitter for everything else. The only obvious thing in principle, however, is that the ARC can apparently no longer be used. So had to take a detour via an optical cable. Otherwise the device is great.
